To say I’m addicted to sweets and junk-food, mostly pastries, is an understatement.
I can honestly say it’s been with me all my life but there has to reach a point where enough is enough and that time is NOW!!! It’s an addiction, just as smoking is which can can cause your health to deteriorate over time and in some ways I’m already feeling some of those effects. So, with that said, my goal is to reduce my intake by at least 80%. It’s only been two days and it’s already been a tough go but I’m in for the long-haul so all I can do is keep banging away and see what comes of it.
Hi Hank!
It must me hard breaking a life-long habit. Good luck to you. Maybe I’ll see you on the trail sometime.
Tom
Thanks Tom. I’m sure we’ll see each other soon. Spending more time in OC this year.
I’ve been cutting way back (but not completely cutting out. We’re all human) on sugars and carbs, and focusing on a LOT more fresh produce. It’s amazing how much sugar there is added to everything (for me: yogurt and jelly). I don’t miss my not-quite-daily PB&Js and the comfort of Snickers bars at school as much as I’d thought. It takes deliberate planning and decision-making, but it’s so worth it. Good for you, Hank. I’m in it with you!
Thanks Wendee. There is no way I can completely cut it out but just enough so that it becomes part of a balanced diet. We can do this!!!! =)
